Scott A Strassels, PharmD, PhD, BCPS, is Assistant Professor of Public Health in the Division of Pharmacy Practice at The University of Texas at Austin. He received his Doctorate in Pharmacy from the University of Arizona, Tucson, and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Washington, Seattle. His research focuses on pain and palliative care with an emphasis on using outcomes research to advocate the exchange of ideas and promote pain education. Dr Strassels is an ad hoc reviewer for the American Journal of Health-System Pharmacy, Annals of Internal Medicine, and Clinical Journal of Pain. His work has been published in journals such as Journal of Pain, Anesthesiology, and Journal of Managed Care Pharmacy. In addition, he has been invited to present his evidence-based research at meetings for the Texas Pharmacy Association, Texas Society of Health-System Pharmacy, and University of Utah.
