Joyce M Knestrick PhD, CRNP, FAANP, is a certified family nurse practitioner at the Primary Care Center in Mt Morris, PA. She is also Coordinator of Graduate Education at the Frontier School of Midwifery and Family Nursing (FSMFN), where she previously served as Director of the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. She obtained her BS in Chemistry from Point Park College in Pittsburgh, PA, and her BSN from Wheeling Jesuit College in Wheeling, WV. She then went on the complete her MSN in Primary Health Care at West Virginia University in Morgantown, WV, followed by her PhD in Nursing from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, PA. In addition to being a fellow and regional representative of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, she is a member of several professional nursing organizations including the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties, the West Virginia Nurses Association, the Eastern Nursing Research Society, and the American Association of University Women. Her research interests include smoking and women’s issues.
