Program Overview
Activity Description
This educational web conference is intended to support clinicians in the practical application of comparative effectiveness research specifically in the context of underserved populations. Demonstrating best practices in action, the web conference presenters will describe effective strategies for improving care using evidence from AHRQ's comparative effectiveness studies on medications for adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.Learning Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, the participant should be able to:
- Apply evidence from the AHRQ's comparative effectiveness research in oral and insulin analogues to improve care for underserved patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
- Demonstrate effective strategies to address low health literacy and cultural communication barriers among underserved patients with type 2 diabetes
- Identify resources that are available to assist clinicians and patients to improve decision-making in underserved patients with type 2 diabetes

This CME activity is designed to meet the educational needs of physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, pharmacists and nurses.
